Award Recognizes Virtusa’s Candidate and Onboarding Experience

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. – (November 5, 2019) – Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ GS:VRTU), a global provider of digital strategy, digital engineering, and IT services and solutions that help clients change and disrupt markets through innovation engineering, announced it has been named a winner in the 2019 North American Candidate Experience (CandE) Awards by Talent Board for medium employee-sized companies. This is the third consecutive year Virtusa has been recognized in the CandE Awards.

At the 2019 North American Talent Board CandE Symposium and Awards Gala in Washington DC, this year’s 65 winners from organizations both big and small across multiple industries were recognized for providing over tens of thousands of job candidates an exemplary candidate experience. The winners were rated by the candidates themselves across four key data points: a positive overall candidate experience, extremely likely to apply again, extremely likely to refer others, and willingness to increase their business relationship with the employer.

“The candidate experience provides tremendous value to our organization, and we are thrilled to be recognized by the Talent Board,” said Sundar Narayanan, EVP and chief people officer, Virtusa. “We are continuously working on ways to improve experiences and attract top talent. Communication plays a huge role in showing the value of working at Virtusa from the time a candidate reads a job description, throughout the interview process, to ongoing career development.”

Enhancements to the candidate experience at Virtusa focus on the interview process and job architecture. The interview process at Virtusa shifts the focus away from simply listing job requirements to illustrating the bigger picture of the role, including role evolution, professional growth within the role, employee benefits details, and the quality of life working at Virtusa. The job architecture sets expectations around role trajectory by allowing employees within a role to up-skill through certifications and trainings.

"A positive candidate experience leads to better hiring outcomes, which has direct business implications," said E. Subramanian Subbu, SVP and global head of talent acquisition, Virtusa. "Virtusa is honored to be recognized once again for providing a great candidate experience for those exploring career opportunities at Virtusa."

The Talent Board is a non-profit organization that promotes and benchmarks research of a quality candidate experience. Over 170 companies registered to participate in the 2019 North American CandE Awards benchmark research program, which ultimately collected the thoughts and experiences of over 195,000 job candidates.

This year’s winners had an average CandE score 144 percent higher than all other participating organizations. For a full list of winners, please visit thetalentboard.org/cande-awards/cande-winners/
